I have heard so many times this question:Should i learn spanish mexican or spanish spain?
So, In this blog, I would give my honest opinion as a Mexican Spanish Teacher!
The first thing,I have to say there are not better dialects than others.
The choice between learning Mexican Spanish or Spanish from Spain depends on your personal interests and goals.
Here are some factors to consider:
1. Geographic Relevance: If you plan to traveel or live in a specific region, it might be beneficial to learn the dialect spoken there. For example, if you're planning to visit Mexico or have connections with Mexican culture, learning Mexican Spanish would be more relevant.
2. Cultural Interest: Consider which culture interests you more. Mexican Spanish might be more appealing if you enjoy Mexican food, music, literature, or cinema. Similarly, if you're interested in Spanish history, art, or literature, European Spanish might be more suitable.
3. Ease of Access: You might find more resources available for learning one dialect over the other. Spanish from Spain might have more materials due to its historical and cultural significance, but resources for Mexican Spanish are also widely available due to Mexico's large population and influence.
4. Personal Preference: Listen to both dialects and see which one resonates more with you. Some people find the accent or vocabulary of one dialect more appealing than the other.
5. Professional Considerations: If you're learning Spanish for professional reasons, consider which dialect might be more useful in your field.
